Detroit Holds Free Community Health Fair
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Unify Detroit Coalition along with Michigan State University Community Integrated Medicine and The Henry Ford Health System will present a community health fair to be held on Saturday July 9, at the UAW Local 7 in Detroit.
This free event will provide attendees screening and testing for diabetes, STD's, high blood pressure, tuberculosis, asthma, vision, cancer information and much more.
"Many people are suffering from maladies that can be corrected with little complications if they are detected early," Dr. William Revely, board chairman of the UDC, said in a statement. "This event gives people the opportunity to initiate the process to better health."
The health fair will feature Kimberly Wisdom MD, Michigan's first Surgeon General and Vice President of community Health Education and wellness at Henry Ford, as the keynote speaker.
Admission is free, parking is free and refreshments are free. Vendors will be available as well.
The community health fair is scheduled to run from 11 am to 3 pm at UAW Local 7, 2600 Conner in Detroit.
