Detroit Councilman Discusses Medical Leave
A Detroit City Councilman breaks his silence to discuss the details of his medical leave.
Councilman Kwame Kenyatta is home recuperating after having several medical procedures, including surgery to remove his gall bladder. In an exclusive interview with WWJ's City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas, Kenyatta says things did not go as planned, which he says will extend his time away from office.
Kenyatta says he has NOT been diagnosed with cancer. He says reports of his demise are premature. He says he is not resigning or taking an indefinite leave. He says he intends to return and finish out his term. He believes he'll return to Council in early October.
