Detroit City Council Candidates Square Off In Debate Series
DETROIT (WWJ) - For the first time in about 100 years, Detroiters will be electing city council members by district when they head to the polls next month.
WWJ's Vickie Thomas moderated the eight debates between City Council candidates which were organized by MiVote to educate voters.
With Detroit's impending bankruptcy and a new process for electing City Council members, it is important that voters make an informed decision on Election Day.
MiVote said the debates are a resource for voters in Detroit that provides information on the candidates running in their district and the major issues facing the community.
