Detroit Charter School Closed After Overnight Fire
DETROIT (WWJ) - Elementary students at one Detroit charter school will have Thursday off, after an overnight fire damaged at least one classroom.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reports the fire broke out at the New Paradigm Glazer Academy, near M-10 and Davison on the city's near-east side.
The K-5 school will be closed Thursday, Dec. 8.
Fire damaged at least one classroom late Wednesday night and no injuries were reported.
Arson investigators were on the scene, where maintenance crews were in the process of boarding up the building.
Authorities say they aren't sure what exactly caused the fire, but an investigation is ongoing.
