Denard Robinson Pleads Guilty, Pays Fine
BATH TWP. (CBS Detroit) Police say he failed to signal a turn, and then they discovered his license tags were expired -- and University of Michigan star Denard Robinson had his first brush with the law.
It ended Monday when Robinson pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license, according to ESPN. Robinson was ordered to pay $870 in fines and court costs, along with $65 for the expired registration tags.
He had been cited for the crime at 1:33 a.m. Nov. 4 in Bath Township, which is just north of East Lansing -- otherwise known as Spartans territory.
Bath Township's Lt. Lyle Lindemulder said Robinson's license had been suspended, not revoked, though he would not say why. "A license can be suspended for a number of reasons," he said.
Robinson was cooperative when he arrested, Lindemulder said.
The guilty plea means he's free to travel with his team.
Robinson famously got a shout-out from President Barack Obama when he visited Michigan earlier this year and was the subject of a video that became a You Tube sensation titled "I love Denard."
