Demand For Missoni Designer Line Crashes Target Website
DETROIT (WWJ) - Target has a new line of clothing. It's popular. And it's also hard to find. WWJ's Violet Ikonomova reports on the rush to buy the designer clothing online that left many waiting in cyber-space.
Fashionista's were left hearing the three words they hate to hear: 'Out of stock'.
But that's just the case online and on the shelves at many local Target stores after the retailer teamed up with luxury designer Missoni to release a highly anticipated, limited edition line on Tuesday.
The four-hundred piece collection generated so much hype that it caused the Target.com site to crash several times throughout the day.
The site is recovering but the Missoni for Target collection has been stripped of its hottest item. The website allows a local search for the item but appears to be out of stock in most metro-Detroit stores.
