Defense Group Forming West Michigan Chapter
GRAND RAPIDS -- Women in Defense, the organization designed to connect women in the defense industry, is forming a West Michigan chapter that will kick off with an organizational meeting Thursday, April 19.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Noto's Old World Italian Dining, 6600 28th St. SE, Grand Rapids. Registration is $45 and includes dinner.
The keynote speaker is Maj. Gen. Amy Courter, president of WID-Michigan, who will offer an overview of WID-Michigan's mission, the programs it supports and an industry insider's view of west Michigan's defense sector.

Women In Defense Michigan chapter (WID-Michigan), is a non-profit professional networking and development organization for women and men across Michigan who contribute to national defense and security. Formed in 2007, WID-Michigan strengthens and influences the defense and national security industries by inspiring women, cultivating leadership, and growing professional relationships. WID-Michigan also assists in the educational development of young women in technical fields through scholarships and mentoring.
