Debbie Dingell Says She Won't Run For Levin's Senate Seat
DETROIT (WWJ) - Democrat Debbie Dingell says she won't be making a bid for the U.S. Senate seat Carl Levin will vacate in 2014.
Dingell, who's married to representative John Dingell and serves on Wayne State's Board of Governors, had been considering running for several weeks.
Even though polling data showed she would likely be a front runner in the race, she has declined to enter, saying it's important to get behind one candidate for what she says will be an expensive race.
The move likely clears the way for 14th district Representative Gary Peters to take the Democratic nomination.
