Dearborn's $1 Million Powerball Winners Revealed
DEARBORN (WWJ) - We now know who was holding that $1 million winning ticket from last week's huge Powerball drawing.
Eugene and Nancy Gaspar of Dearborn have come forward to claim their prize. The two have been married for 56-years and had been worried recently about having enough money for their retirement years.
"I was in shock, numb," Eugene Gaspar told Lottery officials. "We won't have any money worries in the future."
When asked how they would spend their newfound wealth, said Nancy Gaspar, "I can't think of anything I really need -- we've had a good life." However, the couple agreed that they were going to concentrate on Christmas for their four children and four grandchildren.
"This couldn't have happened to two better people," the couple's daughter Nancy said.
The Gaspars said the winning numbers were a compilation of their grandchildren's birthdates. The winning ticket was sold at a CVS Pharmacy on Ford Road in Dearborn.
