Dearborn Schools Assistant Principal Charged In Home Invasion, Assault
DEARBORN (WWJ) - A Dearborn Public Schools assistant principal is in police custody, facing charges in two domestic violence and home invasion cases involving two different women.
Fady Soueidan, 43, is also charged with assault in the first alleged incident involving a 23-year-old Westland woman on March 14.
"He was having marital problems, and he was involved with this young lady from Westland," said Westland Police Lt. Todd Adams. "He showed up at her apartment one night, forced his way in, assaulted another female who was in there — her roommate. The police were called, he was still on the scene, and he was arrested."
In a separate case, Soueidan is accused forcing his way into a home on Hampshire Court in Dearborn last weekend, stealing a cell phone, and assaulting his estranged wife.
Dearborn police say Soueidan had been under court order to stay away from the home and his wife. He's charged with first degree home invasion, aggravated stalking, larceny, and domestic violence in that case.
"Citizens have a right to feel safe and secure in their own homes," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a media release. "The Dearborn Police Department will work with all agencies involved to bring resolution in this case."
Soueidan, was arraigned in the Dearborn case on Tuesday by Magistrate Don Rivard of the 20th District Court where bond was set at $100,000.
He remains on administrative leave from his job at McCollugh-Unis Elementary-Middle School, pending a preliminary exam on the charges set for April 4.
