Dearborn Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Stabbing Of 9-Year-Old Brother

DEARBORN (WWJ) - A Dearborn man has been charged with assault with intent to murder after he allegedly stabbed his 9-year-old brother multiple times.

Bond was set at $1 million cash or surety for 20-year-old Alaa Mohamad Daher at an arraignment in 19th District Court in Dearborn Wednesday.

The boy is reportedly hospitalized in stable condition following the attack Monday evening at the family home in the 7700-block of Steadman St., near Joy and Greenfield.

Family members have said Daher has a history of mental health problems and that the pair had been arguing prior to the stabbing.

Daher will be back in court for a probable cause conference Friday, Oct. 30 at 9 a.m.

Police said the boy, whose name has not been released, is expected to make a full recovery.
