Dantonio Heads To Ohio Because Of Family Matter

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi is leading the No. 17 Spartans after head coach Mark Dantonio traveled to Zanesville, Ohio, on Tuesday to be with his family as his father underwent a medical procedure.

The school said in a brief statement that Narduzzi will run the team until Dantonio returns. Dantonio has a media availability scheduled for Thursday, but it's not clear when he'll be back.

Preseason camp ends Thursday, and players will be due back Sunday night to continue preparing for the team's season opener, Sept. 2 against Youngstown State.
