Crowded GOP Presidential Field Will Be Spread Over 2 Debates On Thursday Night
DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - The Republican presidential debate is Thursday night with 10 out of 17 candidates taking part in the late night debate.
WWJ's Sandra McNeill is asking the question how many can you name?
Deborah Huntzinger and her sons Charles, 11, and Roy, 13 rattled off a handful.
"Donald Trump is one of them," said ."I think Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, there's that other guy -- I'm not sure -- Christy. Chris Christy," said Roy.
"Seventeen is too many," he added.
"I find that Trump is an interesting person, he's not right at all, but he's probably less wrong than the rest," said Ed Guardo deLeon.
For the record - here's a list of the candidates who have made the cut for the debate.
Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie and John Kasich.
They were among the top ten highest polling candidates in a field of 17.
The seven candidates straggling in the 11-17 polling positions include:
the runner-up for the 2012 nomination Rick Santorum, along with Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, Jim Gilmore and George Pataki.
The seven lowest polling candidates will face off in debate at 5 p.m. and the debate with the leading candidates for the GOP nomination will take place Thursday at 9 p.m. on Fox News, and is co-hosted by Facebook.
