Crime Stoppers Ups Reward In Detroit Barber's Murder
DETROIT (WWJ) - Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,800 reward for tips leading to an arrest in the July 13, 2010, murder of a Detroit barber.
It's been nearly three years since 39-year-old Charles "Famous" McGlown was found with a gunshot wound to the head on the sofa in his West McNichols apartment.
According to Crime Stoppers, there were no signs of forced entry, and police have made no arrests in the case.
McGlown's sister, Lori Cannon, suspects that the murderer was someone who knew her brother. Cannon said she knows he won some cash playing cards the night before he was murdered.
"My brother was very friendly and he might have told a few people," Cannon said. "He played cards and they said that he broke the table and won over $9,000 that night."
Cannon isn't the only one who believes McGlown was murdered by someone he knew.
McGlown's mother, Ella, suspects that her son was slain by someone who knew of his gaming habits. She said that she was told that her son had also won a lot of money from the lottery and had tickets that he had not cashed.
McGlown's family is asking for the public's help in finding his killer.
