Crime Stoppers Asking For Anonymous Tips In Murder Of 23-Year-Old Father Of Two

DETROIT (WWJ) - On Sunday, August 16, Norman Spencer took an afternoon drive to show a house his sister was selling on Detroit's east side.

He never made it to the house -- as he turned off Merlin street onto Cadieux, with two other passengers, when a suspect in a beige or tan Toyota Camry passed by and fired multiple shots into Spencer's vehicle.

Spencer was killed and the front passenger was critically wounded.  A third passenger was not injured.

Spencer, 23, the father of two children Amariana, 6 and King, 2 -- attended East Detroit High School. After 4 heart attacks, his main focus was on his health.  Spencer loved cars.  His desire was to open an auto detail shop.  Spencer's heart condition kept him from returning to the workforce.  He volunteered for the past 10 years for the Friends of Detroit City Airport Annual Children's Christmas Party.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering cash reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest. All rewards are paid anonymously.

If you have any information regarding this crime help Mr. Spencer's family and make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, visit the website at: www.1800speakup.org or text CSM and your tip to 274637. Your information is 100 percent anonymous. All rewards are paid anonymously.
