Crews Battle Fire At Bangor Storage Warehouse
BANGOR (WWJ) - Authorities say a fire has severely damaged a large warehouse in southwestern Michigan. Crews from about a half-dozen departments battled the flames at Bangor Industries, about 50 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.
Bangor Fire Chief Derek Babcock told WWJ the warehouse was being used for storage for heating and cooling equipment. He also said the building was holding chemicals, gas and propane.
The Environmental Protection Agency has been called to the scene to conduct air quality testing to make sure the air is okay to breath.
No one was inside at the time the fire started. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
