Creme-Filled Oreo Churros Coming Soon To Grocery Stores In Metro Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - It's time to bust out your "fat pants" and get your Oreo on!
But forget the Double Stuf, cookie dough, s'mores, birthday cake and brownie batter cookies. Oreo is taking its snack game to the next level with new creme-filled churros you can make right at home.
There's two types of Oreo Churros: a 10-inch version and a bite-size product. Both are made from real Oreo Cookie pieces with creme filling inside.
Oreo Churros, produced by J&J Snack Foods, will be sold at grocery stores nationwide in the frozen dessert section.
The company launched the original Oreo Churro last year, made for dipping into individual Oreo creme dip cups, but the products were only sold through foodservice distributors and weren't widely available to the public.
"We were overwhelmed by the national buzz surrounding the original OREO Churros, so immediately began working on a product line extension so that the snack was available to dippers or grippers," Gerry Shreiber, CEO & President of J&J Snack Foods, said in a statement. "[Oreo Churros] now fit into any snacking occasion – whether around the table, in the car, at a movie theatre, on the sidelines of a sporting event or wherever else our consumers enjoy time with family and friends."
