Credit Union Offers Red Kettle Donation For Facebook Friending
How would you like to make a friend and make a difference at the same time? From now until Dec. 23, for each person who becomes a friend of Co-op Services' "Nextgen" Facebook page, the credit union will donate $1 to the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive.
The Facebook page is readily accessible from the credit union's Nextgen website, www.iamnextgen.org, which serves as a resource about savings programs and services for teens between the ages of 13 and 17.
"By donating to the Salvation Army, we are making a difference in our local community, and by educating teens about our Nextgen savings program, we are helping them learn how to be financially responsible," said Jeremy Cybulski, youth and community development coordinator for Co-op Services Credit Union. "Becoming a friend on Facebook is just another way to connect and expand our outreach in a positive way."
Credit union members and others are also invited to donate to the Salvation Army Red Kettle program at any of Co-op Services' eight full-service branch locations.
In addition to the Nextgen teen savings program, Co-op Services partners with local schools to provide financial education presentations and operates student credit unions at eight area elementary schools.
Headquartered in Livonia, Co-op Services Credit Union has more than 52,000 members and maintains eight full-service branch offices in the Detroit metro area. Members also have access to more than 3,000 shared branches and 28,000 ATMs nationwide. For more information about Co-op Services, visit the credit union Web site at www.cscu.org or call (800) 321-8570.
