Crash Leaves Thousands Without Power In Canton
CANTON (WWJ) - Thousands of homes and businesses lost power Tuesday in Canton.
A spokesman for DTE Energy a tractor-trailer trig crashed into a utility pole early in the morning near Ford Road and Lilley.
As a result, six main power lines went down, multiple traffic signals went out, and about 8,000 DTE customers were left in the dark.
Motorists were reminded to always treat all intersections with non-working traffic signals as four-way stops.
No injuries were reported from the initial accident.
The power was back on by 1:30 p.m. for everyone affected.
