Deadly Accident On I-275
One person was killed Friday morning when a pickup truck hit the back of a semi tractor-trailer along I-275. Michigan State Police closed the freeway to investigate. It was one of three freeway closures Friday morning.
The accident occurred on the northbound lanes of I-275 near Cherry Hill around 7:30 a.m. Friday.
One lane was opened at 10 a.m., however WWJ's John Bailey reports long delays. Drivers can exit at Michigan Avenue or Ecorse Road and use Haggerty and Wayne roads.
Information about the driver wasn't available.
Also Friday morning, police closed westbound I-94 at Eight Mile in Harper Woods and westbound I-696 near Northwestern Highway because of accidents. Those wrecks have been cleared. No serious injuries were reported in those accidents.
