Crackdown On Crime On Detroit's Northeast Side
In an effort to crack down on crime in the Osborn community on Detroit's northeast side, Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon is dedicating five deputies to assist with response to crime in that area.
The deputies will be available by cell phone to handle any issues that may occur. Napoleon say's the deputies are not a substitute for 911, just an additional tool for citizens to have at their disposal.
In September alone, there were 500 crimes reported in that area ranging from arson, assault and burglary.
