Covisint Launches Next-Generation Auto Supplier Portal
DETROIT -- The Covisint business unit of Detroit-based Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR) this week introduced a new and enhanced supplier portal that the company says dramatically improves simplicity, usability, mobile accessibility and time-to-value.
Additionally, through its Akamai NetAlliance Partnership, Covisint's Cloud Engagement Platform will feature improved response times for multi-page transactions globally.
Compuware says the deal gives Covisint more than 125,000 global points of presence and a content delivery network partner with the best way of delivering content to the user regardless of device or browser.
Akamai's system puts more content closer to the end-user and makes sure that the content and user are connected by the most efficient route on the Web. That creates significant site performance improvements. Covisint also benefits from reduced server load and bandwidth consumption.
Covisint said the Akamai system also offers significant protection more resistant to denial-of-service attacks, in which hackers bombard an application with repeated robotic requests for data, which can overload a system.
