Could Robert Bobb Be Weighing A Run For Mayor?
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WWJ) - Could Robert Bobb be weighing a mayoral run next year? It wouldn't be in Detroit, but in Washington D.C.
The Washington Post is reporting that Bobb, the former emergency financial manager for Detroit Public Schools, has taken discreet steps to explore a run for mayor in the nation's capitol. Bobb, appearing in February on the Washington radio program, "The Politics Hour," said he wanted to get involved in politics.
"I'm not going to shut the door for any potential opportunity, but I do intend to become a part of the political scene," Bobb said.
In 2009, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm appointed Bobb to the role of emergency financial manager for the Detroit Public Schools. It was a position he held until July 2011.
