Conyers' Stalled On Football League Issue
DETROIT (WWJ) -Detroit Congressman John Conyers' call to eliminate the National Football League's anti-trust exemption is getting nowhere on Capitol Hill.
The ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee says: "At a time when the economy is struggling and the NFL has chosen to lock out its players, it is particularly inappropriate to allow the league to benefit from a special anti-trust exemption."
But the committee's chair, Texas Republican Lamar Smith, says he won't even take up the matter.
