Construction On US-24 In Oakland County Begins This Week
WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) - Know before you go! Contractor crews will begin work this week on US-24 in Oakland County.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $19.2 million to resurface 9 miles of US-24 (Dixie Highway) between Telegraph Road and I-75. All work is scheduled to be finished in November.
Construction work will kick off between Frembes Road and M-15 (Ortonville Road), and end with the replacement of the bridge over the Clinton River north of Hatchery Road. Additional work includes drainage and utility upgrades, making sidewalks compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and driveway repair.
From March 26 to April 5, crews will be working on the southbound side of Dixie Highway, closing the far right lane from early morning until late evening. One lane will also be closed in each direction of Dixie Highway during peak travel times.
