Compuware Gomez White Paper Explores "Multi-Browser World"

Gomez, the Web performance division of Detroit-based Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR), has published a new white paper that explores how to deliver quality Web experiences to all end users whether they are using a smartphone, iPad or any one of today's desktop browsers.

The "Thriving in a Multi-Browser World:Ensuring Optimal Website Performance for All End-Users" white paper can be downloaded at http://bit.ly/cI7idM.

Today, the browser is no longer a "rendering engine," but an "integration platform." In some cases, as much as 60 percent of overall Web page processing time is spent in the browser. Gomez Web performance data shows an average difference of eight seconds in response times between the slowest and fastest desktop browsers. Variations in browsers and browser versions mean variations in performance, and ultimately, variations in the end-user experience.

This white paper explains why browser diversity is such a complex issue and details the influence browsers exert on the quality of the user's web experience. It also explores:

* the challenges in ensuring performance across browsers and browser-device combinations;
* new approaches for focusing on and understanding end-user experiences across browsers; and
* best practices for overcoming complexity and maximizing Web performance, time and resources in a multi-browser world.

Gomez also offers a free Cross Browser Web Site Compatibility Test where companies can find out if their Web site displays correctly across major browsers and operating systems and a free Multi-Browser Web Site Performance Test to help companies determine how fast their Web site loads across two browsers and four geographies.
