Compuware Gomez Offers Free Cross-Device Web Site Test
Gomez, the Web performance division of Detroit-based Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR), has introduced a free Cross-Device Website Compatibility test that allows organizations to see if their Web or mobile site displays correctly across mobile smart devices.
Included in the test are renderings as the site would appear on the iPhone, the iPad, BlackBerry devices and the Google Nexus One (Android). Organizations can use this information to identify web performance issues and ensure they do not result in lost revenue or brand damage.

Gomez officials say that mobile Web use has exploded all over the globe in the last two years, and that the adoption of smartphones and faster networks has increased user expectations of the performance of mobile Web sites -- to the point where users expect mobile Web sites to perform in much the same way as traditional Web applications on the computer. In fact, a recent Gomez study of more than 1,000 mobile Internet users in the United States found that 58 percent of them expect Web sites to load as quickly on their mobile phone as they do on their desktops.
