Complaint Seeks Flint Hospital's Information On Legionella Cases

FLINT (AP) -- A complaint filed with the Michigan Court of Appeals says state health officials have not received information on Legionella cases from a Flint hospital since April.

MLive.com reports Friday that Michigan Health and Human Services also says it has been prevented from conducting a comprehensive investigation into cases at McLaren Flint.

The complaint was filed Thursday and challenges a court order that bars the hospital from contacting state health officials about Legionella cases that may be related to Flint's lead-tainted water troubles.

State health officials also say three court orders have allowed materials to go to Genesee County's prosecutor and health department.

A state attorney general's spokeswoman has said investigators are trying to protect health data related to lead poisoning and deaths from Legionnaires' disease.
