Cold Floor Battle For Wolverines And Ohio State
CLEVELAND (WWJ) - Another spirited match up Sunday for the Michigan Wolverines, as they do battle with long time rival Ohio State ... this time on the "cold floor" covering a baseball diamond in Cleveland.
WWJ's Jeff DeFran reports that the 15th ranked Wolverines skate against the #2 Buckeyes in the Frozen Diamond Faceoff at Progressive Field, home of baseball's Cleveland Indians.
For the seniors on the UM team, it's the third year in a row they will play in an outdoor game. The other venues were the Big House last season, and Camp Randall Stadium at the University of Wisconsin.
A high of 23 degrees is expected, so there should be ideal conditions for the ice surface. About 30,000 fans are expected for the outdoor game, set to begin at 5:05 Sunday afternoon.
