Colby Lewis 'Disappointed' In Kinsler For Waving To Dugout After Homer

CBS DETROIT - Texas Rangers starting pitcher Colby Lewis did not take it well when former teammate Ian Kinsler smacked a home run in his first at bat and waved - a subtle, waist-high, finger-flutter of a greeting - at his old team's dugout.
"It's unfortunate, I feel like it's unfortunate but that's just me," Lewis said after the game, according to ESPN. "I'm not going to sit here and bad-mouth Kins, I really enjoyed Kins and I enjoyed my time playing with him and I enjoyed him as a teammate.
"Disappointed, that's the word," Lewis added. "That's all. I love Kins, that's all. I was just disappointed a little bit, that's all."
Texas manager Ron Washington had no comment on the wave, though by all accounts he was less than thrilled with Kinsler's gesture.
Kinsler said he was just having fun with the wave, which came in the midst of his trip around the bases, during which he sported an ear-to-ear grin every single step. Kinsler seemed to feel that the whole situation was no big deal.
"Just saying hi," he told reporters after the game, per ESPN. "It was nothing personal at all. I was having a good time. It was my return home, and to get lucky enough to ... have it go over the fence, it was a good feeling and I was just having fun. I was just having fun. I wasn't thinking, I was just enjoying the moment and that's what happened."
The Rangers traded Kinsler for slugger Prince Fielder this offseason, and Kinsler made comments - which he has since deemed only jokes - that he hopes the Rangers go 0-162 and "lose their ass."
