Club Bouncer's Alleged Killer Charged A Second Time
DETROIT (WWJ) - A 20-year old Detroit man accused of killing a beloved bouncer at a downtown Detroit nightclub has been charged a second time for the same crime.
Trevon Lavelle Duma allegedly stabbed 41-year-old security manager Lou Ferrin to death at Club Pandemonium back in September.
But Thursday, a Wayne County Court judge ruled the Prosecutor's Office failed to show probable cause.
Dumas was free for just a few hours before the prosecutor's office presented new evidence in the incident.
Friday afternoon Dumas was again arraigned on a charge of first degree murder.
Mark Ferrin told WWJ Newsradio 950's Kathryn Larson he wants to see his brother's killer locked up for life.
"The punishment needs to find the crime, period," he said. "You know, we'll let the prosecutors handle it and hopefully they'll do their due diligence and justice will be served."
Mark Ferrin said the family is in constant contact with the prosecutor's office and are confident this case will go to trial.
Police said Ferrin, of Warren, was working at the club on Congress Street on Sept. 23 when a fight broke out between Dumas and some other patrons. As Dumas was escorted out of the establishment, he allegedly produced a knife and stabbed Ferrin in the neck. Ferrin later died.
His brother said Ferrin was killed just one month before his planned wedding date.
Ferrin's death marked the fourth murder related to Club Pandemonium in 16 months.
