Cleveland's Jason Kipnis Ejected At Detroit
DETROIT (AP) — Cleveland second baseman Jason Kipnis was ejected from Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers after striking out in the third inning.
Kipnis struck out swinging with the bases loaded for the third out, then appeared to say something to plate umpire Lance Barrett, who immediately threw him out of the game.
Kipnis also hit into a double play in the first inning. He's batting .212 this season.
Mike Aviles replaced Kipnis at second base in the bottom of the third.
