Clerk Alleges Fraud On Oakland County Mortgage Documents
OAKLAND COUNTY (WWJ) - The Oakland County Clerk is asking State Attorney General Bill Schuette to look at some irregularities in the assignment of several mortgages.
According to Bill Bullard, he's found evidence of fraud of some of the county's mortgage documents.
On Monday, Bullard wrote a request for the Attorney General to launch an investigation into document fraud he believes has been committed on several county properties.
Bullard told the Oakland Press a story he saw on the CBS show "60 Minutes" concerned him. In that story, the bogus signature of "Linda Green" was used on the assignment of mortgages.
Bullard said he found that same signature at least five times on mortgages recorded in Oakland County in 2008 and 2009. Bullard also said he thinks he's found other assignments where bank officer signatures were inconsistent.
