City Of Flint Moving Closer To Approving Emergency Manager
FLINT (WWJ/AP) - The city of Flint is one step closer to approving an emergency financial manager to oversea Flint's finances.
Treasury spokesman Terry Stanton says the Flint financial review team unanimously found that a financial emergency exists in the city of Flint. He says Gov. Rick Snyder agrees with the team's findings.
Stanton says that the appointment of an emergency manager is "not an immediate next step, but it's a possibility."
Michigan has emergency managers in place in the Detroit public school system as well as the cities of Pontiac, Ecorse and Benton Harbor.
