'Circle The Lake' Signs Highlight Lake St. Clair
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ/AP) - New signs are directing people to attractions along the Lake St. Clair waterfront in southeast Michigan.
Macomb County officials say the "Circle the Lake Tour" signs were developed though a collaborative effort by the Lake St. Clair Tourism Initiative and the Macomb County Planning and Economic Development Department.
Arrows on the 52 signs in Macomb County show the way to places of interest, which are within walking distance of the shoreline so that they can be enjoyed by the boating community as well. The signage is similar to those placed along the Great Lakes.
In addition to guiding motorists to the waterfront, there will also be signs directing visitors to the marina districts in St. Clair Shores and Harrison Township.
Work to install the signs along roadways including Interstate 94 began in January and wrapped up last week. The signs are part of County Executive Mark Hackel's New Blue Economy Initiative.
