Chris Christie Campaigns In Macomb County, But Can Lions Fans Forgive His Cowboys Celebration?

(CBS Detroit) New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be the keynote speaker at the Macomb County Republican Party's Lincoln Dinner Fundraiser Friday night in Shelby Township.
That could mean for anyone in attendance who's a Detroit Lions fan, it won't just be the buffet that leaves a bad taste in their mouth. (We joke! We're sure the chicken is delicious.)
Political affiliations aside, Christie famously delivered the most jubilant -- and awkward -- attempt at a celebration when the Dallas Cowboys beat the Lions in a 24-20 playoff victory.

He was caught attempting to high five and then hug Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after they beat the Lions. He was wearing his "lucky orange sweater" and sitting in Jones' luxury box.
Obviously, he has no love for the Honolulu blue.
Let's just say it was awkward.
This was just the latest time Christie proved his love of the Cowboys.
The potential Republican candidate for president doesn't bother to pretend like he prefers his hometown teams.
"I think, if anything, it shows he's authentic — him standing by his team," Matt Moore, the chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party, told the Associated Press at the time. "True sports fans know what it's like to stand on couches and shout at the TV. We all get caught up in the moment," Moore said. "I don't know if it's anything more than being a super fan, but Gov. Christie's love of the Cowboys is definitely smart politics."
Christie also high-fived Jones after the Cowboys beat the Philadelphia Eagles, a team very close to South Jersey.
What does he have to say for himself?
"I call it as I see it," Christie told a South Jersey sports-talk station in December. "And I'm not going to be one of these politicians who changes their sports team loyalties just to score political points."
