Child Pornography Bust In Windsor
DETROIT (WWJ) - Trouble for our neighbors across the river in Canada, as seven people are under arrest in the Windsor area. The suspects are accused of taking part in child pornography.
Police say one of the suspects had collected a half million pictures of children. The suspects range in age from 19 to 60. More than 500 DVDs, dozens of computer drives, and other items were confiscated.
According to the Windsor Star, police said one suspect allegedly met a Windsor girl, under age 16, over the Internet and spent six months trying to lure her into having sex. It ended when one of the girl's parents came across the chat logs and called police.
The suspects face an array of criminal charges including luring a child, invitation to sexual touching, making child pornography available, distributing child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Investigators said it will take several months just to sort thru the images. So far, police have not identified any local children who have been abused.
