Charges Sought In Taped Beating Of Flint Boy
FLINT (WWJ/AP) - Police are seeking charges against three young people in the beating of a 14-year-old Flint boy that was recorded on video and posted on Facebook.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton told The Flint Journal that prosecutors plan to meet with police Thursday to determine appropriate charges.
Leyton said police want unarmed robbery charges brought against the suspects, two of which are juveniles and one who is of adult age.
According to a police report, the Northern High School student was walking on the city's west side when three teens that he recognized as schoolmates attacked him.
The boy's mother, Trina McNeil, said video of the Friday afternoon attack was posted on a Facebook page of one attacker. The video shows two teens abruptly attacking the teen for almost a minute before he was able to run away.
The boy is doing ok after the attack, and told police he believes it was unprovoked.
