Charges Expected In Highland Park Ax Murder
Police are seeking charges against a Highland Park grandmother being held in the ax-slaying of her son's 26-year-old girlfriend. The Wayne County prosecutor's office says in a release Wednesday that it is reviewing a warrant request in the death of Mila Perry, of Detroit. An arraignment could come as early as Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, whose name is not being released, was arrested Monday following a 4-hour standoff with police inside her son's home on Candler Avenue in the Detroit enclave.
Perry's body was found inside the house. The attack may have resulted from a fight Saturday between the two women. The slaying still is under investigation.
