Charges Expected Against 5 In Death Of Man Struck By Rock On Freeway
GENNESEE COUNTY (WWJ) - Five teens expected to face murder charges in connection with the death of a driver killed by a rock.
Prosecutors in Genesee County says they plan to charge the teens (ranging in age from 15 to 17) with one count of second-degree murder and six felony counts of malicious destruction of property in the death of 32-year-old Kenneth White -- who was killed a a rock thrown on I-75 while he was driving.
The teens are expected to be charged as adults.
Investigators believe the teens were throwing large rocks onto southbound I-75 off the Dodge Road overpass in Vienna Township.
One of those rocks penetrated the windshield of a car, striking White of Mount Morris, Michigan — in the face.
Prosecutors say the teens acted knowing that death would be the likely result of their actions.
White was the father of four children -- a GoFundMe page set up to help family pay for funeral expenses has already raised more than $40,000.
