Michigan Democrats Celebrate Projected Obama Win
DETROIT (WWJ) - The place erupted. It felt like thunder at the MGM Grand in Detroit when it flashed on the screen that President Barack Obama is the projected winner.
Reporting from the Democratic party celebration, WWJ CityBeat Reporter Vickie Thomas said the place was in an uproar. "People were cheering, screaming, hollering, waving the American flag. There is so much energy and excitement in this room that it's palpable."
One delighted young voter talking to WWJ's Pat Sweeting said he thought that Mitt Romney's positions and comments changed so much that he just couldn't trust what the GOP challenger was saying. He said he believes President Obama's policies will benefit young Americans much more than those of Romney.
One woman said she was really counting on reelection because she believes President Obama is more concerned about women's issues.
