Casino Patron Sues After Being Punched By Officer
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A lawsuit by a Livonia man claims he was sucker-punched by a Detroit cop as he was being led out of the MGM Grand Casino.
On July 30, Patrick Poisson was in the U Me Drink Bar inside the casino when police were called after he allegedly inappropriately touched one of the waitresses. Poisson claims as he was being escorted out of the casino, he was sucker punched by two Detroit Police officers.
The officers claim Poisson tried to fight with them by throwing the first punch. Poisson's lawyer says video surveillance of the incident backs up his client's claim.

Besides suing the city, Poisson also names officers Arthur Dudal and Jose Ortiz.
Poisson was charged with assaulting a police officer and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The criminal sexual conduct charge was dropped after the waitress said she didn't want to press charges. The assault charge was dropped after prosecutors reviewed security video.
Detroit police declined to comment, citing pending litigation.
