Car Slams Into CVS Pharmacy In Attempt To Rob ATM
DETROIT (WWJ) - Police in Detroit are investigating a daring robbery attempt at a CVS Pharmacy near the Grosse Pointe border.
WWJ's Mike Campbell reports the pharmacy located on E. Warren, near Mack Avenue, was targeted around 7:15 a.m. Friday by somebody who tried to ram through the store's front windows with a white van.
It doesn't appear that the vehicle made it all the way through building. Police believe it was an unsuccessful attempt to rip off the store's ATM, which was left lying in the store's front vestibule area.
The suspects were reportedly armed with guns and wearing masks. Police are now searching for the white van, which is expected to be heavily damaged.
The store is closed as police investigate.
