Canton To Offer Special Pre-Thanksgiving Harvest Market
CANTON (WWJ) - The Canton Farmers Market returns for a special Harvest Market on Sunday, Nov. 20 to ensure that market-goers can enjoy local, harvest-fresh food on their Thanksgiving tables.
A variety of locally grown and produced food will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in and around the historic Cady-Boyer Barn, located in Preservation Park at 500 North Ridge Road.
This special Market will feature an assortment of Michigan-harvested fruits and vegetables in addition to specialty products made by local Michigan vendors, who will be on site both indoors and outside.
Pick up items for your Thanksgiving meal along with all your market favorites including organic fresh turkeys, farm eggs, natural meats, fresh fruit and veggies, artisan bread, cider, jams, jellies, fresh roasted free trade coffee, hand blended teas, kettle corn, fudge, baked goods and more.
In addition to finding everything you need for a farm-to-table holiday meal, you can also find fresh flower arrangements, wreaths and centerpieces. Other offerings include hand crafted soaps, dog treats, soy candles and gift baskets.
Chef Paul Penney will also be on site cooking a tasty holiday recipe from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Donations of personal care items will also be accepted for Open Door Ministry, a local outreach organization that provides nutritious food, warm clothing, personal care items and job information to families in Canton, as well as in 20 neighboring communities. Items that will be accepted include toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, soap, deodorant and other new personal care items.
