World Cup Viewing Party Returns To Cadillac Square, Bigger And More Patriotic

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - A big game for U.S. Soccer calls for a big screen - or two - for a World Cup viewing party in Cadillac Square in Detroit.
For the second time in less than a week, Downtown Detroit will be hosting a World Cup viewing party and food truck rally.
When the U.S. men's team played Germany Thursday, nearly 3,000 downtown workers, families and soccer fans packed the square and surrounding streets for the lunch-time match.
Following the success of the first viewing party, organizers are planning a bigger event for the knock-out match against Belgium at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The family-friendly event - sponsored by Campus Martius Park, Detroit City Football Club, Downtown Detroit Partnership, Fathead, Opportunity Detroit, Bedrock Real Estate Services - brings together a variety activities for the game.
Among the amenities to be offered at the viewing party include:
- Two, 18-foot by 10-foot LED video walls. The first party had one screen that was 16-feet by 8-feet,
- Food trucks including Buffy's Mexi-Casian, Heart to Soul, Stockyard, El Guapo, Detroit Pommes Frites and Chef Cari's "the Spot,"
- Dining specials at downtown restaurants including Roasting Plant, Mike's Kabob Grille and Subway,
- Giveaways including Moosejaw swag, 'One Nation, One Team' thundersticks, stadium horns,
- Face painters near the entrance to Cadillac Square.
Additionally there will be Fathead Big Heads featuring the Team USA Soccer 2014 Crest, Clint Dempsey and Tim Howard and a Clint Dempsey 2014 life-size Fathead Stand Out throughout the square.
