Cabrera Expected To Be Ready For Spring Training

The Detroit Tigers announced that super slugger Miguel Cabrera underwent successful core surgery Tuesday morning and will be rehabilitating over the next six to eight weeks.
Dr. Bill Meyers performed the surgery in Philadelphia, and the Tigers anticipate Cabrera will be ready for spring training.
Even after a dramatically compromised September, Cabrera finished with a .348 batting average, .442 on-base percentage and .636 slugging percentage. He sent 44 balls over the fence and batted in 137 runs. Despite his injury, Cabrera improved in many areas on his Triple Crown season of 2012.
Since the end of the season, Cabrera was named MLB Player of the Year by Sporting News and also received the American League Hank Aaron Award, voted on by media, fans and Hank Aaron himself.
