CBS DETROIT - Before running back Reggie Bush joined the Detroit Lions, he spent two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. The Lions and Dolphins - both on three-game win streaks - meet Sunday at Ford Field.
Bush, who missed Detroit's last game with an ankle injury, said he will play Sunday, and he admitted playing his former team gives him some extra fire.
"I would be lying if I said it wasn't a little more incentive to win this game, just like the Saints game, but nevertheless, I've still got to focus on doing my job and making sure I'm not making this game bigger than what it is," Bush told Stoney, Bill and Sara of 97.1 The Ticket. "I've still got to be focused, still got to do the little things right, and we still have a tough task ahead of us because they're a good football team. It's going to be a good game, and I'm looking forward to obviously coming out with the win."
Following Sunday's game against Miami, the Lions play the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots in back-to-back road games. Bush said Detroit will not look past the Dolphins, however.
"You don't get any drop-off weeks in the NFL," Bush said. "This game's tough. It's going to be a tough game for us. Everything is right there in front of us, but also at the same time, we have to be well-prepared for this game because this is a tough team we're facing."
In addition to getting Bush back from injury Sunday, the Lions expect to also have star wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who has missed or been limited in the last five games.
"It means a lot getting two guys back and hopefully one of the tight ends too," Bush said. "We've been pretty banged-up. The injury bug has hit us I think unlike any other season I've ever been a part of. It's going to be important for us to get some guys back healthy this week and hopefully help us to win this game."
