Bush On How Lions Will Use Him, Riddick: 'I'm Not Worried About My Touches'

CBS DETROIT - Since suffering an injury Oct. 5 against the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush has struggled to return to full strength, missing two games and playing sparingly in the only game he has played since the injury.
In the absence of Bush, fellow dual-threat running back Theo Riddick has stepped up, racking up 149 receiving yards on 13 catches over the last two games.
Like Bush, Riddick has missed two games this season, but since both players could return healthy following the bye week, the Lions might have some decisions to make in terms of playing time.
"That's a problem that we hope we have," Lions head coach Jim Caldwell said in his press conference Tuesday. "I think that there's enough to go around for everybody. I think both guys have unique qualities, and both guys have big-play impact. We plan to use them both."
Bush said he will be fine with however the team decides to split time between him, Riddick and fellow running back Joique Bell, whose bruising, churning style differs from those of Riddick and Bush.
"I'm comfortable with whatever they want to go with," Bush told Stoney, Bill and Sara of 97.1 The Ticket. "Theo's a great player. He brings a lot to the table, to the offense. We talked about in the offseason just how good he was and why people were raving about him, just how good he is running the ball between the tackles, receiving the ball out of the backfield, so that is a good problem to have.
"I'm at the point now in my career where I'm not worried about my touches," Bush added. "My first goal is ... how are we going to get this win, and that's the most important thing, and that's the best attitude you can approach it with, just be unselfish, because it's a good problem to have."
While Bush did not play in Sunday's game in London, he did treat his offensive linemen to a lavish steak dinner. One of several hashtags he attached to the photo of the evening was #DamnThisBillBoutToBeHigh. Indeed it was.
"I didn't keep a number on who ate the most steaks, but they ate pretty good, they were pretty happy by the end of the night, I do know that," Bush said with a chuckle. "It was 1,800 pounds, which translates to about ... $3,400, $3,300 ... I didn't tell them [to limit what they ordered]. I just wanted them to be happy.
"It was a very special time for us to be in London, playing an American football game, something that not a lot of people get a chance to experience," Bush continued, "so I just wanted to make it a little bit more sweeter for them and make sure they're nice and full and happy and taking care of us on Sundays."
