Budget Constraints Delay Wolverine Display
Some people are disappointed that the state still hasn't publicly displayed Michigan's last known wild wolverine, which was found dead in Sanilac County in March.
Department of Natural Resources and Environment spokeswoman Mary Detloff told The Bay City Times that budget constraints have ostensibly halted previous plans to display the animal.
Detloff says the Department is holding off on the taxidermic display and that it doesn't have the money for the project now.
The man who discovered and tracked the wolverine for six years says the delay is disappointing. Jeff Ford of Deckerville says a lot of people want to see the rare wolverine, which died of natural causes.
