Brighton Home Hit By Lightning
BRIGHTON (WWJ) - State police said a lightning strike likely caused a fire at a home in Brighton Township Wednesday, on Taylor Road near US-23. It happened just before 6:30 a.m..
It rattled neighbors, including Kathy Goettsche.
"It was just this huge ball of flames on the ground," Goettsche told WWJ Newsradio 950.
"You could see the flames over the trees. We were sitting on the front porch. It's only a dirt road and there had to have been at least a dozen-and-a-half fire engines," he said.
Firefighters from Brighton, Green Oak Township and Hamburg Township helped put the fire out.
No one was hurt.
